  • Traveler’s Notebooks – Use case for a housewife

Why on earth does a housewife required two when one is a thousand too many?

I am stuck here. I can’t find another good reason why I should require one. A housewife doesn’t have much appointments.

    BUT. BUT. BUT.

Weekly Vertical Free Diary (018) as a monthly review: I set 7 categories of things I want to focus on. I wrote down achievements made, missed and any issues that bothered me. This made a lot of difference. When I felt things weren’t moving as fast as I want, I felt reassured the situations was so bad.

Weekly Diary & Memo (019) as a daily tracker. On the memo page, I list the hours and track the various activities. It was very helpful when I starting thinking I wasn’t focusing enough hours. I could see that housewife chores took indeed quite a lot of time and it also showed that I was tired a lot.

The slimmer journal, it helped me with important documents and receipts I need to retain to bring out esp for medical appointments and other random lists and kids documents. The wallet and phone goes in there as well with the zippered pocket. I am just done with my keychain. I felt this slimmer journal supported me practically as a housewife.

Mostly with Taobao, when I needn’t struggle with the cost of owning just 1. The first cost $15 and the second $28 for full set up. I used the original TN inserts because the $15 set was bad and collected the rest over time. The $28set was very good including the paper inserts.

  • Ruminate: A Simple Child

    A Simple Child

Suppose you and your husband had made every effort to model the behaviour that you espouse, working 2 jobs, frugal habits with money, avoiding or minimising books, talking about potential scammers and mean people, sharing about your childhood of being hungry and having to climb fruit trees to steal fruit.

Suppose you had tried to explain the pointlessness of the intellectual circles, the performing arts network because you made friends in those network and you found the friendship nothing deeper than transactional and the demand for art isn’t there at all.

Suppose you remembered it was horrid being hungry and wanted your child to have the same aims towards a middle class life so that there isn’t any financial insecurity or money related quarrels when your child eventually marries.

Suppose you and your spouse worked and lived amongst the ‘I’m-not-rich-just-comfortable’ but they lived in landed homes gifted from their parents while you scraped together just enough for a HDB flat. Your spouse’s grandparent might have come from real old money but civil war, the Japanese, failed businesses wiped it out. Your parent was educated but favoured the drink and was more than partial to games of chance.

Suppose you wanted to be impressed by your child hoping for fancy titles at work or large salaries – a little nod by the universe that all this striving was worth it and of course she was smart and hardworking why wouldn’t anyone pay her well.

    What will you have done?

  • Freedom

What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

    Free from desires.

    Free from suffering.

Elimination of the greed, hatred and ignorance.

Hahaha didn’t mean for this to be a religious related post but the answer is too easy.

    Happy New Year everyone!

Wishing all sentient beings perfect the accumulation of wisdom and merit! May the precious Bodhi mind that is not born arise and the mind born never decline but increase forever.

  • Remember

That your husband, children, father, aunts, cousins maybe have commonalities but this is only a small part of them. Just like you they live their own varied lives rich with experiences.
